Murakami’s 1Q84

June 16, 2009

I first read Haruki Murakami’s  “The Wind Up Bird Chronicle” as an undergrad and absolutely fell in love with him.  He is one of the few authors that I can go back to over and over again and enjoy every word he writes – “Kafka on the Shore” and “Hard-Boiled Wonderland” were just as intriguing and captivating as “Wind Up Bird.”  So I was overjoyed when I learned that his newest work was recently released in Japan (see Reuters article).  No word yet on when it will be translated into English, but I’m eagerly awaiting!
